Military operations in the Red Sea have been heating up leading the U.S. Navy to engage in its most intense battle since WWII. So it appears the days of CIWS cannons and Sea Sparrow launchers just standing by and looking cool are over because these recent engagements have led the Navy to deploy over 1 billion dollars worth of munitions – firing more missiles in just 15 months than it did in the past 30 years.
