The road leading south out of Baghdad never looked like a typical killing field you’d imagine; it looked like farmland. Canals threaded between palm groves, wheat and date plots worked by the families who owned them, the Euphrates bending along the southwestern edge of all of it. If you ever rode those canal roads between 2004 and 2007, you learned fast not to trust any of it.

One of the greatest moments of my career was going to see a real Seawolf-class submarine, the USS Connecticut, in drydock in Groton, Connecticut, at Electric Boat back in 2004. But times change, and the wear and tear on this elite submarine is starting to mean her retirement is near, twenty-two years later. And now we have a date: 2031, but it won’t be without some drama, which seems typical of anything the U.S. Navy does these days.

Iran and the United States: Headed Toward Economic Disaster? Iran and the United States are trading military blows after the downing of an American Apache attack helicopter that threatens to end the ceasefire and could plunge both countries into mass warfare once again. But Tehran and Washington must be concerned with alarming negative knock-on effects on their economies. The Americans are struggling with high inflation, and due to the blockade and war costs, as well as damages from air strikes, the Iranian economy is not performing well.

In a small area of Northern France, in a town called Seringes-et-Nesles, is a cemetery filled with soldiers who died fighting to keep France from falling to the Kaiser’s Germany during World War I.
The cemetery, Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, holds the remains of 6,012 soldiers in plots A-D, some unidentified, as well as a memorial to the almost 300 who went missing and were never found.

There are many interesting side stories about this cemetery. Famous poet Joyce Kilmer is buried here.

The Missile Issue For The US If It Returns To A Full Bombing Campaign Against Iran: The US air campaign against Iran, Operation Epic Fury, was militarily very successful, severely degrading Iran’s ballistic missile stockpiles and missile launchers, while decapitating its senior leadership.

Decapitation strikes have eliminated over 40 senior military and political leaders, and US and Israeli air strikes have hit over 1,000 targets.

Until now, President Donald J. Trump has kept to the ceasefire despite Iran’s provocations. He was reluctant to resume airstrikes because he believed negotiations were making progress. But the downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter on June 8 by forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps changed all that.  The IRGC followed up with missiles launched toward Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar – just days after striking Israel.

“They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they have to pay the price!!!” President Donald J.

Officers on their way to the general and admiral ranks will have another benchmark to meet before picking their first star.
The “Joint Warfighting Evaluation” will be used to assess the “operational analysis, communications, and decision-making skills” when officers are screened for promotion from O6 to O7, according to a recent memo from Undersecretary of Personnel and Readiness Anthony Tata. Task & Purpose has confirmed that the memo, which has been shared on social media, is authentic.

Oil prices appear to have stabilized somewhat after falling to a seven-week nadir following Iran and Israel’s pause on strikes following intervention by American President Donald Trump to end the renewed hostilities. Global oil stockpiles, as well as a reduction in China’s crude oil imports, may be partially responsible for the stabilization in prices, as are modest amounts of oil transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The Future Prospects of Higher Prices: Entirely Plausible

President Donald Trump signs executive orders flanked by Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F.

Locked in a seeming stalemate, Iran and America would both like a favorable deal to end the ongoing war and to open the Strait of Hormuz. But the goals of both sides are separated by a vast divide that seems irreconcilable. The United States and Israel would like to ensure that Iran is unable to build a nuclear weapon, but Iran’s leadership sees a potential pledge that excludes the ability to manufacture such weaponry as detrimental to the regime’s survival. In the meantime, Iran’s economic prognosis is dire, with businesses that depend on internet connectivity most acutely affected.
