The H-20 in One Word: Invisible – China announced a stealth bomber in 2016. Ten years later, no photograph of it has been confirmed, no flight acknowledged, and no airframe shown in public. The word fits, but not for the reason Beijing wanted.

Meet the H-20
Invisible. Not in the way the engineers intended. The Xi’an H-20 is meant to be a low-observable flying-wing bomber, so invisibility is the entire design brief. But a decade after Beijing announced the program, the aircraft is invisible in a much more basic sense. Nobody outside China has ever confirmed seeing one.

David Berger’s father was cramped inside an Austrian phone booth when he learned his son was dead.
Berger’s parents were overseas to watch him compete for Israel at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Originally from Ohio, Berger made the team as a weightlifter. Sharing his Olympic experience with family thrilled Berger until eight Palestinian terrorists took 11 members of the Israeli delegation hostage early on September 5. They killed two Israelis in the Olympic Village and held the remaining nine men, including Berger, as tools for negotiation.

Marines operate in jungle environments, hot deserts, and Arctic expanses. Like with other parts of the military, severe heat and cold pose a real risk to them. And now the Corps wants Marines to do better at tracking extreme temperature conditions to prevent them from ending up as hot or cold weather casualties.
This month, the Marine Corps issued an administrative notice for its Heat and Cold Stress Injury Prevention Program.

North Korea Has Become Critical to Russia’s War, Sending 14,000 Troops and Millions of Shells: North Korea has promised to support Russia until Moscow achieves victory in Ukraine, turning a relationship once denied by both governments into an openly declared military partnership. Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui made the pledge during a July 19 meeting with President Vladimir Putin, according to NK News.

Putin thanked North Korea for supporting Russia’s military operations.

With eyes on the future Army, Marine Corps and U.S. Special Operations Command missions, Anduril has developed an autonomous attack rotorcraft prototype designed to fly alongside military helicopters.
Unveiled on Monday during the Farnborough Air Show, Thunder is a group 5 unmanned tiltrotor helicopter that can function as a loyal wingman drone much like the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) being developed for fighter jets. According to Anduril President Chris Brose, the drone is specifically designed for “maneuver warfare” — like the tactical, air-ground littoral fights in Ukraine.

Big. That is the most useful single word for the aircraft the world calls the J-36, and it is the only descriptor that rests on something anyone has seen rather than inferred. Stealth is an assumption from its shape. Sixth-generation is a label with no agreed-upon definition. Fighter may not even be the right category. But size can be measured from photographs, and the J-36 is enormous.

Trump Said the Iran War Would End Quickly. 17 U.S. Troops Are Dead, and the Mission Keeps Expanding: President Donald Trump faces a more difficult Iran endgame after another round of American troop deaths and a widening U.S. campaign across the Persian Gulf. A CNN examination of the administration’s strategy identified the central problem: Washington is striking more targets, protecting more regional infrastructure, and sustaining more casualties without defining the political outcome that would end the war.

Seventeen U.S. service members have died since the conflict began on Feb. 28.

China’s J-20 Mighty Dragon Stealth Fighter, Explained in One Word: Fifteen years after a gray prototype lifted off in Chengdu and embarrassed a visiting American defense secretary, China’s first stealth fighter has become the most consequential military aircraft of its generation that has never fired a shot in anger. One word explains why.

If you had to break down the J-20 Mighty Dragon in a single word, it would be momentum.
