The Colorado Air National Guard’s 120th Fighter Squadron deployed a dozen F-16C Block 30 fighters to Kadena during 2026, which is one of the most strategically critical American bases in the world due to its proximity to a leading potential hotspot for Sino-U.S. tensions – the Taiwan Strait.

Abrams tanks supplied by the United States were first used in combat in February 2024, and quickly took extreme losses. Despite multiple withdrawal from the frontlines and extensive efforts to improve armour protection levels, by early June 2025 the Ukrainian Army was assessed to have lost 87 percent of the vehicles, most of which were destroyed while some were abandoned and captured.

The U.S. State Department has approved a potential $5 billion Foreign Military Sale to Saudi Arabia of more than 10,000 Joint Direct Attack Munition-Extended Range (JDAM-ER) tailkits, and over 5,000 BLU-111 500-pound general purpose bombs, 5,000 BLU-117 2,000-pound general purpose bombs, fuzes, target detectors and other related technical assistance and equipment. Primary contractor for the sale will be Boeing.
