President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Kyiv will carry out preemptive strikes on Russian war production facilities in his evening address on Wednesday, as Kyiv expands strikes on energy infrastructure in an attempt to force Moscow into talks.
“I instructed our intelligence services and military to act preemptively against facilities Russia uses to expand its war effort,” Zelenskyy said.

Russia was once again hit by overnight strikes by Ukrainian forces, this time striking two additional Russian oil refineries in Ufa, some 1,500 kilometers away from the front line, and an oil depot in Krasnodar, some 300 kilometers from Ukraine. In the wake of the strikes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that Russia is now taking steps to protect its most valuable targets by shifting air defenses from the front lines.

Seven people were taken to local hospitals after a fire broke out aboard the Littoral Combat Ship USS Indianapolis on Wednesday morning while the ship was moored at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, a Navy spokesperson said.
The shipboard personnel were evaluated for minor injuries and were later released and cleared to return to the ship on Wednesday afternoon, the spokesperson told Task & Purpose.
The news about the blaze was first reported by WJXT, a news television station in Jacksonville, Florida.
