The Iran War has clearly not gone as well as Donald Trump hoped. It has not led to a quick and easy victory, or regime change in Iran, or the restoration of a pro-Western regime there, or a permanent end of Iran’s nuclear program.

If a goal was stability for energy prices, that hasn’t happened either.

It’s now been a full week since the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen launched a blockade aimed at Saudi oil shipping in the Red Sea, and according to a new report, ship traffic has slowed to its lowest level in months.

Reuters reported Monday, citing Kpler, that ship traffic on Sunday at Bab el-Mandeb fell after the Houthis “attacked Saudi oil ‌installations along the Red Sea coast,” while traffic remains slow coming through the Strait of Hormuz as well.

Iran Claims Control of Strait of Hormuz After Lull in Fighting: Iran declared Monday that it has consolidated control over the Strait of Hormuz (SoH), emphasizing its strategic importance and underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Reuters reports that Iranian authorities turned back six vessels attempting to transit the SoH without receiving permission from Tehran. After weeks of American bombardment, it is obvious that the American air campaign has failed to degrade the Iranian military capability in the SoH enough to prevent Iran from making such threats credibly.

Trump and Zelensky Are Preparing an Air Ceasefire Proposal for Russia: The United States and Ukraine are discussing an air ceasefire proposal to present to Russia as President Donald Trump prepares to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington on July 28. The Kremlin says it has received no detailed plan and dismissed the current reports as speculation, according to reporting on Moscow’s response.

A Ukrainian source told Reuters that Kyiv and Washington had discussed a possible halt to aerial attacks as part of a new diplomatic push.

Airmen are required to submit a waist-to-height ratio to the Air Force by the end of the week, but the measurement won’t count towards the service’s official fitness test, the Air Force said.
Active-duty Air Force personnel have to submit their waist-to-height ratio data via the Air Force’s myBodyComp app by July 31. The Air Force has been pushing reminders of the deadline to troops for several days.
