The UK has completed delivery of Challenger 2 main battle tanks (MBT) and other promised armoured vehicles to Ukraine, as Kyiv continues to prepare for its long-awaited counter-offensive against Russian forces.
The development was revealed on 21 April by the UK Ministry of Defence following the latest round of talks between members of the Ukraine Contact Group in Ramstein, Germany, which, in coordination with Ukraine, determines what military assistance can be provided to Kyiv.

Aerojet Rocketdyne’s metal specialist subsidiary, Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee (AOT), has been awarded a multi-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract worth up to $75m.
The company will provide the US Army with M829A4 120mm kinetic energy rounds, which are specifically designed for the M1 Abrams main battle tanks (MBTs).
These rounds are the latest type of ammunition to be used by the American-made Abrams. It is the materiel solution for the Abrams’ lethality capability gap against threat vehicles equipped with third-generation explosive reactive armour.

F-35 outperforms F-22 in region
Despite the F-22’s reputation as the most advanced stealth aircraft, the more recent technology F-35 poses a greater risk to Chinese forces in the Indo-Pacific region. The researchers highlighted the advanced avionics and multi-role capabilities of the F-35 compared to the F-22.

The Russian weapons program and the S-500
Russia has prioritized its aerospace defense since 2020 when it announced the State Armament Program, under which the S-500 “Prometheus” system will be produced.
The Su-30, a Russian fighter jet derived from the Su-27, has proven to be a deadly and effective force in various conflicts, including the current one in Ukraine, despite being outshone by its sibling, the Su-35.
Characteristics and capabilities of the Su-30
Developed in the 1990s, the Su-30 is operated by more than 12 countries and is characterized by its combat versatility. With speeds of Mach 2, this aircraft can target and destroy ground targets, as well as launch Kh-31A anti-ship missiles from the air.
The Bureviy brigade in action
In a forest near Kyiv, the Bureviy brigade carried out a mock skirmish, where one group represented the “enemy” and the other the Ukrainian forces. The brigade, part of the National Guard, is known for its focus on “destroying Russian troops.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky recently praised the Bureviy brigade’s resistance, also known as the “first presidential brigade.”
In February, the Interior Ministry announced the creation of new armed formations, including the Bureviy, led by the National Guard, police and border forces.
