HII is looking to outsource some construction work for aircraft carrier Enterprise (CVN 80) at its Newport News Shipbuilding yard, HII officials confirmed on 4 May during a quarterly call with investment analysts.
The German Armed Forces received the first of 13 protected-wounded transport containers (GVTC) from Airbus Defence and Space, the company announced 2 May.
The container will serve as a safe mode of transportation for the sick, injured, and wounded to hospitals or field hospitals, and allows medical care to be delivered while in-transport.
The Bundeswehr is set to train its medical personnel and rigorously test the container, paving the way for the GVTC to enter mass production. On 20 April the first GVTC was delivered and is set to serve as a “proof-of-concept” vehicle.

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) will replace the Harpoon surface-to-surface missile (SSM) on its Formidable-class frigates with the Blue Spear SSM.
The weapon will be incorporated as part of the Formidable class’ mid-life upgrades (MLUs), said the RSN’s Commander First Flotilla, Colonel Ng Kok Yeng Daniel, in a recent wider-ranging interview with

The Australian Department of Defence (DoD) has signed a AUD46 million (USD30.7 million) contract with L3Harris Micreo to procure around 80 explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) robots for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and its subsidiary DSIT Solutions have jointly unveiled a surface vessel-launched variant of the Torbuster hard-kill torpedo countermeasure system.
The original Torbuster is a submarine-launched torpedo countermeasure, which was developed to meet a requirement for the Israeli Navy.

Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering) displayed its new Autonomast system at the IMDEX 2023 naval exhibition in Changi, Singapore, held from 3 to 5 May.
According to the company, the modular Autonomast is designed to convert a manned vessel into an unmanned surface vessel (USV) for autonomous missions.
