In August 2004, a company of British soldiers found themselves surrounded and under relentless attack in an isolated compound in Al Amarah, Iraq.
Outnumbered and cut off, around 90 soldiers and 6 Iraqi police faced hundreds of insurgents from the Mahdi Army during one of the most intense sieges of the Iraq War – the Battle of CIMIC House.
Using rare handheld footage recorded from inside the compound, this documentary captures the reality of modern urban warfare: the fear, exhaustion, humour, chaos and resilience of the men defending CIMIC House over three brutal weeks of fighting.
This is the real story of the soldiers who lived through it.
