Northrop Grumman and Shield AI have been selected for the next stage of the US Army’s Future Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (FTUAS) Programme.
The Increment (Inc) 2 contract will allow the Northrop Grumman-led team to determine the modular open-system architecture of their enhanced V-BAT uncrewed aircraft system (UAS).
The team will also work on the integration of advanced surveillance and electronic warfare payloads onto the V-BAT platform.

The contract has a performance period of seven weeks.

YJ-12 vs. Brahmos
Brahmos is a medium-range cruise missile used by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is produced by Brahmos Aerospace, a joint project between India’s Defence Research and Development Organization and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya.
On the other hand, The People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) uses the supersonic YJ-12 anti-ship missile manufactured by China Aerospace Science & Industrial Corp (CASIC).
In terms of Range: 
Experts disagree on the YJ-12’s claimed Range, with some putting it at 400 kilometers (km) and others at 300 kilometers (km).

France is not currently considering a plan to buy back Mirage 2000-9 fighter jets from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and give them to Ukraine.
“No buy-back for shipment to Ukraine is envisaged at this stage,” a French official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the matter, told The War Zone Tuesday.
The official was responding to information in a report by Intelligence Online that part “of Abu Dhabi’s Mirage 2000-9 fleet could be used to make a first delivery of French fighter aircraft to Ukraine.
