Hadley Castle Works hadn’t made a platform since 1986 when they started making the Warrior fleet, some of which are still in use today. Manufacture of the first production helmet of the Terrier began in January 2010 at the company’s former premises on Scotswood Road, Newcastle.

South Korea is pushing ahead with plans to replace its fleet of aging Republic of Korea (RoK) Armed Forces Boeing CH-47D Chinooks with a new variant of the aircraft.
The Seoul government on Tuesday backed a defense project to buy an unspecified number of CH-47F Chinook helicopters to replace the army’s aging heavy-lift helicopters, the state arms procurement agency said.
The South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) stated that the “purchase of the CH-47F is under consideration.” The acquisition will be for Seoul’s Heavy Utility Helicopter-II (HUH-II) project.
The Space Development Agency has cleared the first data transport and missile tracking satellites in Tranche 0 for launch on Thursday, marking a major early step toward the agency’s goal to proliferate satellites in low-Earth orbit to augment warfighter capabilities.
“This is the first dedicated SDA launch. All of the satellites on the rocket tomorrow will be SDA satellites, and it’s the first launch of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture,” SDA Director Derek Tournear told reporters Wednesday.

On March 23, 1998, the Chengdu J-10 took its first flight. Also known as the “Vigorous Dragon,” the J-10 is China’s primary medium-weight, multi-role fighter. The J-10 is a highly successful indigenous fighter jet program, which one could argue has been the most critical and transformative of the modern era of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
South Korea successfully conducted the first tests of two prototypes of its domestically-made KF-21 fighter on Tuesday, the state arms procurement agency said, to test their combat capabilities.
According to the Air Force Acquisition Program Administration, the prototypes underwent separate tests over the waters off the country’s southern coast after taking off from the Air Force’s 3rd Flight Training Wing in Sacheon, 300 kilometers south of Seoul—defense (DAPA).
The second and third prototypes of the KF-21 were mobilized for testing.

Last week’s episode was a fun one for all our lore-lovers out there. From Mandalorian Foundling training to Order 66, this chapter was called The Foundling but you might find yourself asking “which one?”
Spoilers ahead.
The episode opens with the Children of the Watch as they train — including the foundlings. Din Djarin encourages Grogu to begin his own combat training by dueling with a young foundling — Ragnar — who has already taken his oath and earned his helmet.
In 2023, the U.S. Marine Corps has some of the most experienced combat leaders it has had since the Vietnam War. This experience was gained through years of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. 20 years ago, the 1st Marine Division traveled 250 road miles over the course of 28 days from the Kuwaiti border to Baghdad, Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein and his Ba’athist regime from power. The young Marines who fought during those four weeks are now senior leaders within the Corps and shared their stories about Operation Iraqi Freedom on the Marines YouTube page.

There’s no denying that Uncle Sam has had a big impact on the world we live in today. Without the government’s involvement, we would be missing some of our most-used items to-date. That includes food, scientific advancements, and more.
Take a look at some of the most common items you never knew were made possible by the U.S. government.
