Finland-based firearm and ammunition manufacturer Sako has been awarded a contract to provide precision rifle systems and associated equipment for the Finnish Defence Forces.
The contract has been awarded by the Finnish Ministry of Defence (MoD).
It has an estimated value of approximately €11m, which is inclusive of value added tax. 

The contract involves the delivery of TRG M10 magazine-fed precision rifles and spare parts and sniper equipment, including spotting scopes, laser range finders, and shooting rests.

Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) is seeking a partner to progress the development of its Mulhim battle management system (BMS), Ibrahim Alswaidan, programme director at SAMI, told Janes at IDEX 2023 in Abu Dhabi, held from 20 to 24 February.
The partner would work with SAMI to add more features to Mulhim, specifically to develop “cognitive command-and-control (C2)”, Alswaidan said.

According to the tweeter, the train was heading to the tank plant in Lima. All of the tanks loaded on the train at the plant will be upgraded to the FEP version. FEP is the Polish version of the tanks ordered by Warsaw. The update includes new FMS turret armor packages.
Under the Firepower Enhancement Program (FEP), M1 Abrams tanks receive enhanced day and night combat capabilities. The program provides for increasing the range of detection and destruction of targets. All this Abrams has to do in all weather conditions.

SIG4NL has unveiled a new mobile vehicular-based counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) at IDEX 2023, being held in Abu Dhabi from 20 to 24 February.
The platform, known as Sky Shield, provides full omnidirectional C-UAS protection in the tactical environment and can be deployed within five minutes, Filip Kostomlatsky, senior programme manager for electronic warfare and intelligence at SIG4NL,told Janes.
