The Army is realigning millions of procurement dollars to research and development for its next-generation ground system to collect and disseminate sensor data, a key pillar for one of the service’s top priorities for so-called deep sensing.
Budget documents from last year projected the Army spending $298.9 million in procurement for fiscal 2024 for the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN). However, fiscal 2024 budget documents provide no procurement funding for TITAN.

The Iranian military has accused a U.S. spy plane of violating, or coming close to violating, its airspace on Sunday, claiming that the aircraft flew over Iranian territorial waters. Arquus outlined to Janes at the SOFINS 2023 exhibition, – held near Bordeaux, France – the current delivery timeline of its Sabre light tactical vehicle to the French special forces.
The Arquus Sabre, a derivative of the company’s Sherpa Light platform, was selected in 2015 to replace the ACMAT liaison, reconnaissance, and support vehicle (Véhicules de Liaison, de Reconnaissance et d’Appui: VLRA ) in service in the French special forces.
On 1 April 2023, India’s Ministry of Defence reported a significant milestone in defence exports for the 2022-2023 financial year.

The USD619 million contract awarded to Raytheon on 29 March to buy SPY-6 radar sets for the US Navy (USN) also provides for the first SPY-6(V)4 versions to be backfit on DDG 51 Flight IIAs, according to Mike Mills, senior director of naval radars, Raytheon.
The US Department of Defense (DoD) has been contracting big data analytics firm Palantir Technologies for research and development (R&D) services into the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Their work has been ongoing since 28 September 2022, with recurring funds every few months, and is expected to be completed by 28 September 2023. Palantir was awarded $42m in their intital 2022 contract, with a further $10m on 14 December 2022, and the latest boost comprised $60m announced on 31 March 2023.
