The Hanwha AS21 Redback is Australia’s new infantry fighting vehicle, and one of the more interesting armored vehicles in the global IFV market.
It has a 30 mm cannon, Spike LR2 missiles, active protection, advanced sensors, and a heavy survivability pitch built for a battlefield where drones, anti-tank missiles, and artillery are everywhere. But Australia is still the only confirmed buyer — and the export fight against Lynx, CV90, ASCOD, Borsuk, and others is brutal.
So is the Redback a serious contender for the future of mechanized infantry, or just one very good Australian win?
