Recent video of a Japanese F-15J Eagle brilliantly shows the fighter’s maneuvering air intakes bobbing up and down in flight. Although it certainly looks strange in a techno-marvel kind of way, there is an important reason for it central to the aircraft’s functionality.
The footage from @rikizomisono below shows a Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) F-15J with the serial number 12-9828, and was captured during rehearsals for this year’s iteration of the JASDF’s Gifu Air Show.
The Indian Air Force’s No. 4 Squadron has swapped its Mig-21 fighters for Su-30 MKI fighters, remaining dependent on Russia since the Soviet era.

Following the lockdowns and the Covid attacks on the American population, Ukraine was the new ‘new thing’ to protest about.
Compliant ‘progressives’, baptized in their new religion of ignorance, gleefully put the signs in their yards, and virtue signaled to one another at Starbucks on steroids.
Of course, for the most part, they had no knowledge of what they were actually supporting, and still don’t.
The vehicle will give Ukraine one more way to clear vast minefields created by Russia.
During a ceremony to celebrate the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery and Engineering Troops, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had the opportunity to observe a very unusual-looking armored vehicle.
The American-made M1150 Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), which looks like a cross between a tank and a combine harvester, will provide critical capabilities to help Ukrainian troops clear the hundreds of kilometers of dense minefields laid by the Russians.
The Pentagon sent UAVs to operate in the Gaza Strip to locate hostages and share intelligence with Israel.
“The United States is organizing unarmed drone (UAV) flights over the Gaza Strip, as well as providing advice and assistance to help Israeli partners in their hostage rescue efforts,” the statement said. Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said on November 3. “These flights began after the Hamas attack on Israel.

There was a small delay in the delivery of the modernized versions, leaving the Ukrainian army with the aging Leopard 1A5s.
German Delivery of Leopard Tanks to Ukraine
In a gesture of solidarity, Germany has guaranteed that Ukraine is equipped with its powerful tanks. Recently, the shipment of an additional set of armored vehicles has been completed to complement the military aid previously agreed with Kiev.
Despite certain delays with the newer variants, Ukrainian forces have adapted to using the older models, specifically the Leopard 1A5.

Space Force and SpaceX announced that they’ve reached a deal for a brand-new military capability: Starshield. Is it a new laser defense shield against nuclear missiles? An Ultron for our time to destroy alien armadas? Or Starlink, but with new branding and (probably) a new fleet of satellites?
Yup, the last one. But with how clutch Starlink is in Ukraine, a military-controlled version of the network could change operations there. And it would dramatically improve U.S. and allied military communications in future conflicts.
Ukraine isn’t making the fast progress across Russian lines that many had hoped. Last year, during their first major counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces advanced miles on some days. But now, getting a few dozen meters through a Russian minefield represents a great day. It’s not fun to watch, and it leaves thousands of Ukrainian families in harm’s way. But Ukraine’s recent strikes on the Black Sea Fleet, advances toward the M14, and repeated hits on Russian bridges are starting to look like America’s Anaconda Plan from the Civil War.
China has, of course, denied the incident ever occurred, but some 55 Chinese sailors aboard a submarine designated 093-417 are presumed dead after an accident in the Yellow Sea, off of China’s Shandong Province. British intelligence reports the submariners died after a “catastrophic” failure of the vessel’s oxygen systems on August 21, 2023.
“Our understanding is death caused by hypoxia due to a system fault on the submarine. The submarine hit a chain and anchor obstacle used by the Chinese PLA Navy to trap US and allied submarines,” the report read.
We know it’s infuriating that many of our readers, once again, are facing a potential gap in their paychecks. That’s especially true for the Coast Guard peeps who are funded under a different bill than the Department of Defense. But have you ever wondered why the DFAC or mess stays open during shutdowns? Who’s buying that food?
Well, the military is, and the authority to do that comes from an 1861, Civil War-era law originally written to protect cavalrymen and their horses.
The laws, including the 1861 Food and Forage Act
Government shutdowns follow a set path.
Thomas Kenneth Mattingly II was a Naval aviator, aeronautical engineer, test pilot and NASA astronaut who flew on both Apollo and Space Shuttle missions. Portrayed by Gary Sinise in the 1995 film Apollo 13, Mattingly was replaced by astronaut Jack Swigert on the Apollo 13 crew after exposure to measles. Instead, Mattingly flew on Apollo 16.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 17, 1935, Mattingly’s father’s job with Eastern Airlines moved the family to Florida soon after. As a Boy Scout, the young Mattingly obtained the rank of Life Scout.
In the tumultuous and often bewildering realm of Middle Eastern geopolitics, Iran has emerged as a central player, orchestrating and nurturing armed groups that collectively form what’s commonly referred to as the “axis of resistance.” These groups, often openly hostile to Israel, have forged a complex web of alliances and rivalries, making the region a melting pot of intrigue and tension.
On October 7, the leader of Hamas’ military wing, Mohammed Deif, rallied support from across the Arab and Muslim world, with a particular emphasis on Iran and allied organizations.
Host L Todd Wood speaks with former US Army officer Mark Bashaw on the effort to hold senior U.S. military officers who tyrannically pushed the vaccine accountable.

Whenever the United States wants to let bad guys know that now is not the time to test us, nothing gets the message across better than having two aircraft carriers operate in a region simultaneously.
The Navy sent that message on Friday by releasing pictures of USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower operating in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

In a fiery speech from an undisclosed location, Hezbollah General Secretary Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah fell short of promising an immediate full-scale escalation of hostilities on the northern front with Israel. Any future response, he said, depends on what takes place in Gaza and what the level of attacks Israel carries out in Lebanon.

Hamas released an intense video yesterday, Thursday, showing a real-time example of one of the biggest concerns that Israeli military planners undoubtedly had for their invasion of Gaza.
The 84-second video is recorded from a helmet-mounted camera. It shows a Hamas fighter hiding in the shelter of bushes after emerging from a tunnel or hiding as an Israeli Merkava main battle tank rolls along a dusty road east of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
Although not without problems, the decision to integrate the missiles expanded the anti-tank capabilities of the Russian tactical helicopter aviation.
Russian forces have begun deploying Mi-28NM attack helicopters equipped with Vikhr anti-tank guided missiles. The missile has a range of 10 km and was recently integrated into the helicopter arsenal.
This causes strange things to happen: during launch, the screens flash caution signals as if the helicopter was illuminated by enemy radar or targeted by an anti-aircraft missile.
Kratos
Kratos has provided a rendering of its Thanatos drone, seen at the top of this story, for the first time. The company says it hopes to have gotten a contract by next year related to this stealth drone, the most advanced design the company has unveiled to date. Though the potential customer remains unnamed, the artist’s conception includes a U.S. Air Force logo, suggesting this could be tied to the service’s Collaborative Combat Aircraft program or other advanced drone projects.

Russian media reported on November 1 that representative offices of the private military corporation Wagner in the cities of Perm and Novosibirsk have begun to resume member recruitment activities.
