Ukrainian Fight Drone Simulator (UFDS) is an ultra-realistic FPV drone simulator developed in Ukraine and built from real military drone training experience.
Originally created to train Ukrainian military drone pilots (7,000+ people trained), UFDS evolved alongside frontline drone operations, with feedback from active combat FPV pilots and instructors. Today, that experience is available to everyone.
The public UFDS Starter Edition on Steam gives beginners, experienced FPV pilots and drone enthusiasts access to realistic flight physics, structured training, different drone platforms and combat-inspired scenarios without risking real equipment. It also includes racing and multiplayer, which players of FPV games demanded, and the developers listened.

Drone warfare in Ukraine changes at a pace traditional military training can struggle to match. New aircraft, electronic-warfare systems, payloads, weather conditions, and enemy countermeasures can make yesterday’s tactics obsolete almost overnight.
We examine how UFDS turns lessons from the front into repeatable training scenarios for drone operators. That includes a mission developed with Ukraine’s K2 unit, a detailed defense-of-Kyiv scenario for interceptor pilots, and a reconstruction of Operation Spiderweb created with feedback from Special Operations Center “A” operators after the mission.
The result is more than a basic flight simulator. UFDS models different aircraft, payloads, batteries, weather, terrain, electronic warfare, and mission profiles—helping operators test where existing tactics, techniques, and procedures begin to fail without risking a real aircraft or pilot.
Ukraine’s experience raises an important question for the United States and its allies: When the battlefield changes, how quickly can that change reach the people training for the next fight?
