The Australian Defence Force (ADF) soldiers have recently carried out a company-level urban operations exercise, called Septimus Stride 2023.
The exercise involved participation of soldiers from the Australian Army’s 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (1 RAR).
As part of this training activity, the participating unit battled other enemy role players to take the control of a port infrastructure.
The soldiers practiced clearance of a complex urban environment, which was located near Townsville in Queensland, Australia.
The US Department of Defense (DoD) has announced the new classified 2023 DoD Cyber Strategy to further advance the defence priorities of the nation.
The DoD transmitted this strategy to the US government last week.
The department will also launch an unclassified summary of this strategy in the upcoming months.
The new strategy supports 2023 National Cybersecurity Strategy and is a part of the 2022 National Security Strategy (NSS) and the 2022 National Defense Strategy (NDS).
It aims to operationalise the concepts and defence objectives for cyberspace specified under the 2022 NDS.

Leonardo is promoting its AW149 multirole medium helicopter to fill Malaysia’s future rotary-wing requirements.
The Malaysian military, especially the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), has suffered a shortfall in helicopter assets since the retirement of the Sikorsky S-61A-4 Nuri fleet in 2020.

A gunfight broke out between Iranian border guards and Taliban fighters along the border between Iran and Afghanistan this weekend. Fighting killed three people in the biggest escalation between the two countries over water. And the Taliban brought out a big gun to help.

The Czech Ministry of Defence (MoD) will develop plans to address the approaching obsolescence of its main battle tank (MBT), the T-72M4 CZ, Colonel Jan Kerdik, head of Land Forces development division at the Czech Armed Forces, told SAE Media’s Future Armoured Vehicles Central and Eastern Europe conference in Prague. The Czech army has now stated its ambition to join the Leopard 2A8 programme.
