Among the latest aircraft to join the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense inventory following the full-scale Russian invasion is a Bell 427 helicopter, and one that appears to have a very unique history, having been the personal mount of Viktor Medvedchuk — oligarch, pro-Russian politician, and close friend of Vladimir Putin. While the Bell 427 — a twin-engine rotorcraft with the capacity to transport up to six passengers — is not the most warlike addition to Ukraine’s fleet, it’s nonetheless a relatively modern type and one that could still be a very useful asset.

NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) soldiers, wearing full riot gear, place barbed wire around the municipal building in Zvecan, northern Kosovo, following clashes with Serb protesters demanding the removal of recently elected Albanian Mayors on May 31, 2023. As organizations seek to modernize their operations and recruit the next generation of technology workforce talent, leaders should consider how their strategies impact people, process and technology, in that order, says Peter Guo.
Guo, CIO for the U.S. Navy Ship Repair Facility (SRF) in Japan, says, “investing in technology solves today’s problems [and] investing in processes can solve all next week’s problems. But investing in your personnel solves the ‘forever’ problem.

On the frontline of our exploration, we meet the United States Army, a stronghold of valor steeped in rich traditions that fortify their camaraderie code.

On Tuesday, Moscow was surprised by an unexpected attack that sent shockwaves through the city. In this offensive, at least eight drones have managed to hit various buildings, including those that house citizens in their daily lives. The Russian authorities have attributed these attacks to Ukraine, calling them a “terrorist attack.”
Although no fatalities were reported, some residents had to be evacuated, and material damage has been significant. These events only deepen the escalation of tensions between the two countries, which seem to be far from reaching an agreement.

In real military life, we’ve got the rules of engagement (ROEs). These aren’t just suggestions or friendly reminders, but crucial directives outlining when, where, and how to use force. In fact, ROEs make sure we’re not going all Rambo on a Tuesday afternoon. Think of them as the ultimate military “how-to” guide but with less DIY and more “please don’t accidentally start World War III.”
What are Rules of Engagement?
In simple terms, ROEs guide our actions during conflicts, ensuring we’re on the right side of international law and our own moral compasses.
