New images show the heavily modified bow of Japan’s Izumo class JS Kaga (DDH-184) ‘helicopter-carrying destroyer’ as the vessel left its dock recently. Kaga is currently being turned into an F-35B Joint Strike Fighter carrier for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). 
Photos of the vessel pulling away from its dock in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture accompanied by various tugboats began circulating online around April 19.

The transfer of the hull sections to the shipyard of the Itaguaí Naval Complex marks the beginning of the construction phase of the fourth PROSUB submarine, Angostura.
According to the scheduled schedule for the Navy Submarine Program (PROSUB), Itaguaí Construções Navais (ICN) is carrying out, from April 19 to May 2, the transfer of sections of the “Angostura” (S-43) submarine.

On Wednesday, the French nuclear submarine Le Terrible carried out a successful test launch of the M51 strategic ballistic missile in Audierne Bay, Finistere.

The Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, congratulated all those involved in the successful launch. France’s nuclear ballistic missile submarines (SNLEs), including Le Terrible, are equipped with the M51 missile.
The DGA and the test ship Monge monitored the missile during its trajectory. The target area was located in the North Atlantic, far from any coast.

Last November, Russian forces operating a Pantsir-S1 air defense system fired on a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone flying over eastern Syria, but did not succeed in shooting it down, U.S. Central Command has confirmed. That the incident had occurred at all only emerged recently in one of a number of leaked U.S. military documents. This comes as senior U.S. commanders have been publicly discussing what they say is an uptick in worryingly aggressive Russian behavior in Syria and elsewhere in the world in recent months.
