Oshkosh Defense has submitted a design proposal for the US Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV), part of the Army’s next generation combat family of vehicles (NGCV) programme.
The Congressional Research Service tells us that the Army intended to develop three RCV variants: light, medium, and heavy.
The Army envisions employing RCVs as scouts and escorts for manned fighting vehicles. They would deter ambushes and guard the flanks of mechanised formations.

The Department of the Navy is creating a new Maritime Accelerated Response Capability Cell to facilitate security cooperation with allies and partners, with an initial focus on Ukraine and Taiwan.
Frederick “Jay” Stefany, acting assistant secretary for research, development and acquisition, announced the establishment of the MARCC in a May 2 memo, which was obtained by DefenseScoop.
The new cell will “ensure swift, comprehensive DON support to critical Department of Defense (DOD) priorities and ongoing crises.

The first Aselsan Gökdeniz naval close-in weapon system (CIWS) destined for the Turkish Navy has been integrated into the lead Istanbul (TF-100)-class frigate following the completion of its factory acceptance test (FAT), the company has announced.

First-of-class
İstanbul
is under construction at the Istanbul Shipyard Command and is planned to be commissioned in the last quarter of 2023.

The FAT milestone follows the successful completion of shipborne firing tests in May 2022.
