Iran has asked Russia for a new air defense system, the S-400, which could prove disastrous for Israel. Russia has yet to confirm whether it will supply the S-400s publicly. In the case of supply, Iran will only need two years for the system to be operational.
Russia developed the S-400 to be a portable surface-to-air missile system. Fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, and cruise missiles. It can also protect against terminal ballistic missiles, as the Center for Strategic and International Studies reported.

Former Army soldier Ethan Melzer was sentenced to more than four decades in prison for an attempted plot to ambush and kill his comrades in a “jihadi attack” while deployed abroad.
Melzer pleaded guilty in June 2022 to charges of attempted murder of U.S. Army soldiers, illegally sharing national security information and providing and attempting to provide terrorists with material support.

All US military branches have struggled to meet recruiting targets in recent years, but the pilot shortage is seriously showing.
In September, the United States Air Force’s director of training and operational readiness, Major General Albert Miller, reported that the service was short 1,900 pilots and that the situation was not likely to improve.
To address this problem, the Air Force has tried to reinstate retired pilots to fill staffing shortages while also offering bonuses to its airmen, which currently run as high as $35,000 per year, depending on their contract length.

The British Navy has intercepted smugglers in the Gulf of Oman and recovered anti-tank weaponry and ballistic missile components. The operation took place at the end of February but was not announced until March 2.
Royal Marines from 42 Commando from HMS Lancaster intercepted the speedboat after a US drone first detected suspicious activity.
The smugglers tried to elude a Wildcat helicopter from Naval Air Squadron 815 and ignored all radio calls asking them to stop, steering their craft into Iranian territorial waters. Before they could do so, the British frigate intercepted them.

Another round of U.S. military aid for Ukraine will, for the first time, include Armored Vehicle Launched Bridges, or AVLBs. This vehicle, which is derived from the Cold War-era M60 Patton tank, can deploy a folding bridge to help friendly forces, including tanks and other heavy armor, cross waterways and other obstacles like trench lines. The announcement that the Ukrainian military is now set to get AVLBs comes as its Western partners have already been working to transfer more modern Western tanks and other heavy armored vehicles.

On March 3, 2023, at a White House ceremony, retired Army Colonel Paris Davis received the Medal of Honor. President Biden presented Davis with the medal for acts of bravery while serving as a Green Beret during the Vietnam War. Although Davis’s commander nominated him twice for the award, the nomination was lost both times. It wasn’t until 2022 that Davis’ nomination for the Medal of Honor got traction.
Davis was one of the first Black officers in Army Special Forces, better known as the Green Berets.

The Hainan, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy’s first Type 075 amphibious assault ship, recently joined a flotilla and conducted a high-seas exercise in the Western Pacific, marking the first time China Went on an expeditionary voyage with such a warship.
Analysts noted on Thursday that these exercises demonstrated the ship’s high level of combat readiness and amphibious landing capability of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy to carry out traditional security missions such as counter-terrorism and humanitarian aid.
