Michael Alexander was a 20-year-old light infantry officer when he decided to join the British Commando and Special Boat Service during World War II. In 1942, he was sent to join his commando brethren in Alexandria, Egypt, where the British forces were facing a combined German-Italian Axis Force in North Africa.
Harold Alexander was a famous British General who had distinguished himself on World War I’s Western Front, earning the British Military Cross, Distinguished Service Order, and the French Legion d’Honneur, among other awards.

Italy has launched an upgrade programme for its fleet of C-27J Spartan tactical airlifters, with Leonardo and the Italian Defence Ministry’s Air Force Armament and Airworthiness Directorate (Armaereo) signing a contract on 7 March.
Under this contract, the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare Italiana: AMI) will fit its fleet with modernised avionics, upgraded systems, and a new self-protection suite.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has reported the presence of 42 Chinese maritime militia vessels in the vicinity of Thitu Island.
The vessels are accompanied by a China Coast Guard (CCG) vessel with pennant number 5302, and what is purportedly a People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessel, said the PCG in a 4 March statement.
