Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) has unveiled a model of a new long-range cruise missile at the DSEI Japan 2023 exhibition in Chiba.
KHI told Janes that the weapon – known tentatively as the ‘Island Defence’ anti-ship missile (ASM) – is designed to be launched from warships, aircraft, and land platforms.

Over the Black Sea, the United States has published video evidence depicting the collision between a Russian fighter jet and its MQ-9 Reaper drone.
Today, the declassified video was revealed.
Earlier, the US military reported that a Russian fighter jet dropped fuel on an MQ reaper drone over the Black Sea on Tuesday, forcing the drone to crash.

Tactical information technology maker MilDef has been awarded a subcontract to support the British Army’s upgraded Challenger 3 main battle tanks (MBT).
The contract has been awarded by Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL), a UK-based joint venture business between Germany’s Rheinmetall and BAE Systems Land UK.
It is valued at approximately £2.5m.

As the component supplier, the Swedish firm will be responsible for supplying its Generic Vehicle Architecture-compliant processors and ethernet switches throughout the life of the new Challenger 3 programme.

The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) plans to procure a total of 250 Type 16 Mobile Combat Vehicles (MCVs), Japan’s Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) told

on 15 March at the DSEI Japan 2023 exhibition in Chiba.

ATLA officials said the JGSDF has ordered and taken delivery of about 100 MCVs and orders for 150 additional vehicles – including variants – are expected in the next few years.
