On 5 June Nato reinforcements began their deployment to Kosovo in response to the recent outbreak of violence.
The clashes, which occurred last week, resulted in nearly 40 Kosovo Force (KFOR) peacekeeping troops sustaining injuries. Nato issued a statement on 29 May condemning the attacks.
The majority of the NATO reinforcements will consist of approximately 500 Turkish service members from Turkey’s 65th mechanised infantry brigade. The Turkish Battalion will remain deployed in Kosovo for an indefinite period of time, as long as its presence is necessary, according to a release from Nato.

Ukraine’s army chief said that Ukrainian forces were still advancing in the area near the city of Bakhmut but did not give details.
“We continue to move forward,” Ukrainian army chief Oleksandr Syrsky wrote on Telegram today, referring to the situation near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
General Syrsky did not disclose the detailed situation but revealed that Ukrainian units had “destroyed a Russian position” in the suburbs. The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the information.

The Netherlands is purchasing Airbus Helicopters H225M Caracal multirole rotorcraft to be used by its special operations forces (SOF) as well as the Northrop Grumman Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile-Extended Range (AARGM-ER) for its Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced the procurements on 5 June.
