The world’s largest military helicopter, the Mi-26, will be equipped with a more powerful engine, Vadim Badeh, director general of the United Engine Building Corporation, has confirmed.
This engine capacity improvement will increase the helicopter’s performance, optimizing its operations in terms of efficiency and load capacity.

The new power will come from the PD-8V engine, a new design that exceeds the power of the current Mi-26 engine by 15%.

The War Zone can now confirm that some of Ukraine’s MiG-29 fleet has been modified to carry winged JDAM-ER GPS-guided glide bombs. A photo shows the winged smart bombs onboard Fulcrums on the ground, one commemorating Ukraine Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi’s birthday.

The Naval Group has returned the Perle nuclear attack submarine to the French Navy after an extraordinary repair – and, according to the company, the first in history – which has consisted of replacing its front part, damaged by a fire, with the front part of a decommissioned sister submarine of the same Rubis class.
The Navy stated that the vessel had been inspected by all the necessary authorities, who had confirmed its ability to operate safely again.
Naval Group did not give any indication of the cost of the repair.

The joint Danish-German-Dutch donation of Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine has been delayed due to a series of technical problems. The first tanks are expected to be shipped to Ukraine during the month of July.
In the spring, Denmark started a collaboration with Germany and the Netherlands to donate at least 100 Leopard 1 cars to Ukraine. It was hoped that the first tanks could be delivered to the Ukrainians during the spring. Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen informed the conciliation circle today that the schedule has been pushed back.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan affirmed that Ukraine deserves to become a member of the NATO military alliance, holding a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Istanbul to discuss regional and global developments and bilateral ties on Friday.
“Ukraine deserves NATO membership,” Erdoğan told reporters, adding that Turkey has made the “most intensive efforts” to end the Russia-Ukraine war through negotiations on the basis of international law.
Erdoğan went on to say that Turkey will provide the necessary support to rebuild Ukraine.

Just ahead of the 4th of July, someone stole a Humvee from a National Guard armory in Santa Rosa, Calif. If you see it, or know where it is, the California National Guard would like it back. 
The Humvee was stolen from the Santa Rosa National Guard Armory just after 10 p.m. on Monday, July 3. The Humvee has been missing since, with California Highway Patrol unable to find it over the 4th of July week. The keys were left in the vehicle, leaving it easy for whoever took it to quickly get away.
