An Army doctor pleaded guilty to 41 charges of sexual misconduct in one of the largest sexual abuse cases in military history, involving dozens of patients at an Army facility in Washington.
Maj. Michael Stockin, an anesthesiologist at Joint Base Lewis-McChord pleaded guilty Tuesday to Uniform Code of Military Justice charges for abusive sexual contact and “indecent viewing” of undressed patients from incidents that occurred between November 2019 through April 2022.

The Navy will name a new warship after Robert Kerrey, the first Navy SEAL to be awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam, who went on to a political career as a governor, U.S senator and one-time candidate for President.
The USS Robert Kerrey will be an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, built around the Aegis radar system designed to defend Navy battle groups from air attack. The Kerrey will be the third Arleigh Burke-class ship named for a SEAL.

On December 16, 2024, A24 Films released the first trailer for Warfare, a film written and directed by Iraq War veteran and former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza along with Civil War director Alex Garland. Based on Mendoza’s experiences in Iraq, the film’s tagline is, “Everything is based on memory.”

Set in 2006, Warfare follows a team of SEALs as they fight to survive and extract from an Iraqi city (likely Ramadi) after what appears to be a compromised sniper overwatch mission.

The beloved A-10 Warthog continues to show its worth even though the Air Force is rapidly draining them out of its current fleet and plans to retire all the aircraft in a few years.
Most recently, A-10s took part in airstrikes against the Islamic State group, or ISIS, from Dec. 30 to Jan. 6 around Iraq’s Hamrin mountains, U.S. Central Command recently announced.
“The A-10s tasked to support ground forces in the area were successful in eliminating the ISIS fighters within a cave,” a Jan. 6 news release from CENTCOM says.
