President Donald Trump has removed Gen. Charles “CQ” Brown from his post as chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff and will nominate former Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan Caine to replace him.
Trump announced the moves in a post on Truth Social Friday night.
“I want to thank General Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family,” Trump wrote.

President Trump, and Secretary of Defense Hegseth have fired DEI pusher General C.Q. Brown as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
General CQ Brown pushed DEI, and the selections of Air Force pilots based on race and gender, instead of merit.
He infamously said American forces ‘would eventually get to the Ukrainian battlefield.

President Donald Trump is looking for a nominee to replace Adm. Lisa Franchetti as the Navy’s top officer, the Pentagon announced Friday night.
A defense official confirmed that Franchetti has been relieved of her duties.
Franchetti became chief of naval operations and the first female member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in November 2023 after she was nominated for the job by President Joe Biden and confirmed by the Senate.
Franchetti’s firing was not totally unexpected.

President Donald Trump fired the top military officer in the country, nominating a retired Air Force general to take over as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Gen. Charles Q. “CQ” Brown Jr. was one of several high-ranking military officials fired Friday evening.
Trump announced the Pentagon shakeup via a post on his social media account on Truth Social. He thanked Brown for his decades of service, saying “He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family.” Brown’s term as chairman was set to end in 2027.

The Pentagon is set to begin its termination of thousands of select probationary employees in the coming days as part of the Trump administration’s unfolding campaign to “maximize efficiency” by rapidly reducing the size of the federal workforce, according to a senior defense official.
Darin Selnick, who is performing the duties of undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness, announced the plans in an email to reporters on Friday afternoon.

The Defense Information Systems Agency intends to consolidate identity, credential and access management (ICAM) instances used by the military services on unclassified networks into a single federated solution before the end of the year, according to an agency official.
Brian Hermann, director and program executive officer for DISA’s PEO Cyber, told a small group of reporters Friday that the agency expects to complete all ICAM federation activities with the services by the end of fiscal 2025.
The plan is to build off ongoing work with the Army and federate its ICAM solutions in March.

The Senate voted against a non-binding resolution calling for the protection of health care benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits during their service.
Introduced by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), ranking member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, the measure aimed to “ensure full and uninterrupted funding” for health care and benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs provided by the PACT Act as well as “preventing any cuts or delays.” 
Early in the morning on Friday, the Senate rejected the measure in a 52-47 vote.
