Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday that troops would begin going without pay starting Nov. 15 if the shutdown continues, even as many families prepare for the holiday season. Earlier this month, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson warned that this could be the longest shutdown in American history.

Artificial intelligence startup Luminary Cloud has developed a physics-based AI model for Northrop Grumman that will allow the defense contractor to more quickly design and build new spacecraft.

Meet the new radar system being used in Ukraine
Japan and the United States are expected to sign a memorandum to cooperate in strengthening shipbuilding capabilities in both countries as part of economic security measures, according to media reports. The move is apparently aimed at countering China’s increasing share of the global shipbuilding market.
