The Marine Corps announced a slew of enlistment bonuses on Monday, with the largest payouts aimed at recruits who enter high-tech jobs the service is eager to fill.
But even wound-be grunts can pick up a bonus if they’re willing to head to boot camp on the Corps’ schedule rather than their own.
For its annual enlistment bonus push announced in a Nov. 3 MARADMIN message, the Marine Corps said it would offer new recruits up to $15,000 for taking on electronic maintenance, cyber, and cryptologic jobs.

Army officials in Germany removed a list of German-run food banks from a “Shutdown Guidance” webpage aimed at soldiers stationed in that country, hours after the list was met with outrage on social media.
A U.S. official told Task & Purpose the list had been posted mistakenly, and was aimed only at German employees on U.S. bases in the country, not at U.S. soldiers stationed there. Like all U.S. military bases, Army installations in Germany employ thousands of local workers.

In his first message to airmen as chief of staff of the Air Force, Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach vowed that the service’s multitude of modernization efforts will be among his top priorities.
“We must guarantee that tomorrow’s Airmen inherit an Air Force that can win,” Wilsbach wrote in a letter to the force. “We will advocate relentlessly for programs like the F-47, Collaborative Combat Aircraft as well as nuclear force recapitalization through the Sentinel program and the B-21.”
