Swedish Air Force Gripen fighters on quick-reaction alert were scrambled to intercept Russian Tu-22M3 long-range bombers over the Baltic Sea on Thursday, as the Russian strategic aircraft were conducting a training flight escorted by Su-35 air superiority fighters. The bombers flew from the Olenya Air Base on the Kola Peninsula in the Russian Far North, after having been repositioned from bases in Siberia.

The Sudanese Defence Ministry is reportedly holding talks with Russia for the procurement of Su-30 and Su-35 fighters, which are expected to be provided in exchange for the rights to construct a major naval facility on the Red Sea. Sudanese sources previously widely reported plans to procure Su-35s in late 2017, following a visit by the President Omar Al Bashir to Moscow. The overthrow of the Sudanese government following riots and a Western-backed coup in early 2019, however, was considered a major factor preventing these plans from materialising.

The 1:17-second clip, posted Nov. 19 on social media, is a string of baffling clips, including old cartoons, masked figures hiding in plain sight and a group of people staring blankly at the viewer over the phrase: “We are everywhere.”
“There is another force applied in combat that we generally don’t think of as a weapon of war. That weapon is words,” the video says.

An Air Force officer who led a squadron of F-16s in multiple combat missions in the Middle East over the last year was awarded the Silver Star for his actions.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach presented the honor to Lt. Col. William “Skate” Parks on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
