Led by HMS Prince of Wales, the deployment covered 40,000 miles, visited 12 countries, achieved full operating capability, and trained alongside 30 allied nations. Emotional scenes played out in Plymouth and Portsmouth as families were finally reunited.
But beyond the headline statistics and the homecoming celebrations, one story stands out.
For the entire deployment, the strike group was joined by the Norwegian frigate HNoMS Roald Amundsen, operating seamlessly alongside the Royal Navy. Before returning to Haakonsvern, Norway’s main naval base near Bergen, the ship made a final stop in Portsmouth — a chance to say goodbye to British colleagues and to mark a historic moment for the Royal Norwegian Navy.
