Originally from Texas, Craig enlisted in the Marines on June 1, 2026, according to his service record, which was provided to Task & Purpose.
He was hospitalized at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California, at the time of his death, a Marine Corps news release says.

Ukraine Hits Last Major Russian Black Sea Fleet Stronghold – Ukraine launched one of its most ambitious attacks on Russia’s Black Sea military infrastructure yet, striking the naval base at Novorossiysk overnight with a combination of aerial and naval drones and missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the strikes in a statement, describing them as a “unique operation” against the “last major stronghold of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea.

Syria to Partially Retake Russian Bases on Its Coast – Russia’s military presence in Syria is set to be downgraded further under an agreement announced by Damascus on Sunday.

With the United States and Iran continuing their standoff over the Strait of Hormuz, there are new reports of disagreements within the upper reaches of the Iranian regime, and questions about who is really in charge in Tehran.

According to Bloomberg News, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said on TV this week that he found it “very difficult” to reach the country’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. The president later said the two had recently met for several hours and called it “a very good meeting.” Reuters later confirmed that the two met.

How Iran Strategized Around the U.S. Munitions Shortage – Reports in recent weeks have indicated that the U.S. is facing a munitions shortage after months of war in Iran. The Hill reported this week that this depleted weapons stockpile has begun to undermine U.S. leverage in the war and elsewhere. 

“So, this is a dangerous moment for the United States to have these reduced stockpiles of key weapons at a time when these threats are all real,” Leon Panetta, a former congressman, defense secretary, and CIA director, told The Hill.

Weeks ago, the United States proclaimed a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, as the world awaits negotiations on the waterway’s future. However, before dawn on Tuesday, U.S. forces fired on a ship seeking to run the blockade.

The Wall Street Journal reported that an American military helicopter had fired on the ship, which flew the flag of Panama, after its crew “ignored warnings from American personnel working to enforce the naval blockade of Iran’s ports.

42 Bistro at Fort Hood is the first of the Army’s new dining halls to offer alcohol for sale. The bistro opened in February and is what the service is calling a “campus-style dining venue,” modeled off of college cafeterias and run by a private contractor.

The warning comes from Gen. Carsten Breuer, the 17th Inspector General of Germany’s Bundeswehr.
