An Army veteran who served in Iraq was subdued and apprehended by three National Guardsmen during an incident last month in Washington, D.C., that was captured on video and recently posted online by a local community group.

Russia’s energy ministry admitted that Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries and energy infrastructure are the cause of fuel shortages in Crimea and parts of southern Russia.

Two crew members of an Army AH-64 Apache attack helicopter were safely rescued after the aircraft crashed at sea on Monday near the coast of Oman.
The incident occurred at 7:33 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, when the Apache went down near the coast of Oman, according to U.S. Central Command, or CENTCOM. Both crew members were rescued within about two hours and are currently listed in stable condition. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
No information was immediately available about what may have caused the crash.

An acute fuel shortage is squeezing drivers in Crimea as authorities on the Russian-occupied peninsula suspend fuel supplies amid a concerted Ukrainian strike effort against Russia’s ability to refine and transport fuel and other energy products throughout Russia, as well as to occupied Crimea.

Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian head of occupied Crimea, announced the termination of fuel sales, Reuters reported. “Starting today, for several days, the sale of gasoline for cash will be completely suspended,” he said.

Rarely a week passes without a new story about Russia’s shadow fleet. Tankers catch fire in the Mediterranean, are added to sanctions lists, or are boarded while passing through European waters. But the bigger story is not the vessels that are caught, but those that aren’t — ships moving between registries, ports, shell companies, and service providers that obscure their ties to Russia while keeping a sanctioned state afloat. The vessels that do get sanctioned are the visible tip of a larger scheme that North Korea spent years running, and Russia has refined at scale.

Following confirmation of the collapse of the Franco-German-Spanish Future Combat Air System (FCAS) fighter program, analysts have widely anticipated that this will further expands markets for the F-35 fifth generation fighter in Europe, both among the program’s partner countries and more broadly across the continent.

During the first sea trials of the second destroyer built for the Korean People’s Army Navy, the the Kang Kon, the chairman of the ruling Korean Workers’ Party Kim Jong Un announced that North Korea will build 10,000 ton destroyers in the future, which appears to indicate that a third class of destroyer has already been confirmed. The Choe Hyon class ships, of which two have been launched with a further two confirmed, have displacements of 5,000 tons, while in March 2026 Chairman Kim revealed that a larger class of 8,000 ton destroyers was under development.

Footage released by the Russian Ministry of Defence has shown a new modification to the Su-34 strike fighter, with the yet unseen configuration shown taking off for strikes during operations in the Ukrainian theatre. A new dorsal fairing identified can be seen aft of the cockpit on the upper fuselage spine, which is a location typically used for satellite communication antennas, datalink equipment, or electronic warfare systems that require a clear sky-facing aperture.

The Russian Navy Baltic Fleet has deployed Su-30SM2 fighters to lead exercises simulating strikes on NATO targets, following multiple close engagements between the aircraft and fighters from hostile NATO member states. “Overall, over 10 aircraft and about 100 flight and ground personnel from a composite air regiment of the Fleet’s large naval aviation formation are involved in accomplishing missions,” the Fleet’s press office stated.

With a clearer picture of the damage, it is clear that repairs on the supercarrier will take longer than analysts originally anticipated.

The Iran War has become an economic game of chicken. On one side, the US naval blockade has crushed Iran’s seaborne oil exports by 93 percent, with shipments reportedly falling to just 64,000 barrels per day in May. On the other side, Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz is choking off roughly 20 percent of the global seaborne petroleum trade. So while Iran is running out of money, the world is running out of spare oil; neither side wants to blink first because both believe they are close to extracting their desired concessions.

New video footage obtained by CNN offers the world a look at the extent of the fire that broke out aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier earlier this year. The shocking footage could provide insight into how long it may be before the Navy’s newest and most advanced carrier is fully ready to deploy again.

When the fire was first reported in March, the Ford was operating in the Red Sea. The ship was fully operational at the time, but the fire damage was so extensive that it was eventually forced out of action and sent for repairs.

The Army developed an app meant to help mortar crews calculate and launch rounds, the service said, replacing software for decades-old platforms with a fire control system that can fit in their pockets.
Originally introduced in 2023, the “Mortars App” is intended to give soldiers a more intuitive fire control system that can be used for different platforms. HMS Prince of Wales, the 65,000-tonne flagship of the Royal Navy, was left marooned off the coast of Norway and forced to limp into Stavanger for repairs after a technical fault surfaced during a NATO exercise in the High North. The suspected culprit is the propeller shaft, the same component that has crippled this ship and her sister before. She had been steaming toward celebrations marking 250 years since the American Declaration of Independence.

Ukraine Is Confident – But Will It Change the Outcome of the War?: During the early days of the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spent an enormous amount of time pleading with Western governments for permission to strike targets deep inside Russia. At the time, U.S. President Joe Biden and European leaders were concerned that using long-range weapons that they had supplied to strike targets deep inside Russia could trigger a dangerous escalation and widen the conflict beyond Ukraine’s borders.

As Ukraine has been ramping up its drone operations against Moscow, more and more Ukrainian drones are ending up where they don’t belong. Most recently, a drone was shot down over Latvian airspace by NATO air forces. These reports have emerged following several other instances of drones showing up in other NATO countries. The recent incidents have sparked fears among some Baltic nations that the war may spread beyond Ukraine’s borders and lead to a broader escalation.

The Joint Strike Missile (JSM) is a weapon specifically designed to fit inside the F-35 Lightning II’s internal weapons bay while preserving that fifth-generation multirole warplane’s stealth characteristics. The contract, designed by Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, is worth $240.9 million. The contract covers missile production, containers, test hardware, and support equipment. Now that the world has awoken to the complete breakdown of the ceasefire between the United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Israel, US President Donald Trump is pleading with two medium-sized Mideast powers to return to the deal.
