What is stopping China from invading Taiwan? In the past, it was overdetermined that Beijing would not use force to compel reunification. Not only did China lack the capabilities to execute a swift and decisive conquest of the island, but China’s leaders since 1979 used to believe that peaceful unification was both possible and vastly more preferable to military solutions. Today, however, the military balance of power has shifted decisively, enabling an amphibious invasion from a capabilities standpoint in the not-too-distant future, while prospects of peaceful unification have faded.
The past, famously, is a foreign country. Unfortunately, it often seems that “foreign wars” fought before 1900 are too distant to find their way into our policy analysis. And without understanding the Seven Years War, we can’t fully understand the possible benefits of strategic patience in Ukraine today. As leading military historian Paul Lockhart recently noted, the overwhelming majority of military historians in the United States focus on topics since 1900. Even fewer, roughly 20 percent, study military history before 1815.

LA Rams Wide Receiver Puka Nacua is having an incredible year. He quickly went from the 177th selection in the 2023 NFL draft to number one in the rookie record books, and just won best catch at the Pro Bowl. That’s reason enough for us all to be talking about Nacua, but it’s something he did off the field that’s garnering a lot of attention. Nacua recently partnered with USAA to give a veteran the surprise of a lifetime: Super Bowl tickets for two.
In the last fortnight, Egypt intensified its military presence in northeastern Sinai, deploying some 40 battle tanks and armored personnel carriers. This move is part of Egypt’s efforts to strengthen security along its border with Gaza.
This military deployment coincides with Israel’s intensification of its military operations around the southern city of Rafah, in Gaza, where a significant part of the Gazan population has taken refuge. This development has increased Egypt’s concern over the possibility that Gazans may try to cross the Egyptian border to flee the Israeli offensive.

Writer-director William Eubank has made several thriller movies mostly built around the supernatural or science fiction. Movies like The Signal and Underwater used those elements to ramp up the tension. His latest film, Land of Bad, trades the supernatural for the military.
The movie follows a small Delta Force team sent into the South Phillippines on a rescue mission.
The fourth episode of Masters of the Air opens with the difficult reality that America’s Bomber Boys didn’t know if their friends whose Forts went down were alive or not. Some like Biddick and Snyder did not survive while others like Quinn and Bailey made it safely into the hands of friendly resistance members. However, for evaders on the ground, the challenge of survival was just getting started. Resistance groups really did grill downed American airmen to ensure that they were not German infiltrators.
Military relationships are hard, they’re even harder on holidays that are all about love. Come February 1st everything is centered around Valentine’s Day. Hearts, flowers, and advertisements are plastered everywhere – meanwhile you’re sitting at home knowing this Valentine’s Day you’ll be celebrating without your loved one.
Let’s face it, it’s difficult to get into the “love season” when you and your loved one are apart and time seems at a standstill. But being alone doesn’t mean you can’t have a great Valentine’s Day.

The Miami Dolphins had an admirable season and Tua Tagovailoa helped lead the way. He hit Jaylen Waddle with an unbelievable 60 yard TD pass against the Jets, had some memorable touchdown celes with Tyreek and the boys, and overall had another great year. But it’s what Tua is doing off the field this week that’s garnering the most attention. No stranger to military service (his brother played for the Naval Academy and went on to become a Naval Officer), Tua partnered with USAA to give away two Super Bowl tickets to a deserving veteran.
Delve into this article, and let’s find out the answer to this question: Can Russian Zircon Missiles Sink a US Aircraft Carrier?
Russian Zircon Missiles vs. the Mighty US Aircraft Carriers
Zircon missiles are often said to be powerful enough to neutralize naval threats, such as US aircraft carriers. However, a closer look at these claims shows that they may not be entirely accurate. Although Zircon missiles are fast and maneuverable, they are not invincible. Their hypersonic speed makes them harder to intercept, but it doesn’t make it impossible.
USAA spokesperson extraordinaire and NFL great Rob Gronkowski has had an impressive year. He dove out of an airplane at the Air Force Academy; he dove into the crowds at the Army/Navy game after giving away two cars to military families in need. And now, he’s giving away two tickets to this year’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas, NV.

Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker TJ Watt had a record-breaking season, leading the league with 19 sacks and his subsequent sack-celebrating high kick. While Watt gives us plenty to cheer about on the field, it’s what he’s doing off the field that has us most impressed. This year, Watt partnered with USAA to give away two Super Bowl tickets to a deserving veteran. Enter Adam Alexander.

Aidan Hutchinson has a special place in his heart for military service. His great-grandfather, Joseph Bernardi, was part of “Merrill’s Marauders,” an elite jungle fighting unit in World War II. The Marauders “answered the call for the most dangerous missions” and “faced the most brutal conditions in the jungles of Burma,” then-Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville said during the ceremony in which the Marauders were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
A recent breach into an Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) front company’s files has revealed startling insights into the cost of the Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, extensively utilized by Russia in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine. This revelation has ignited discussions surrounding the actual financial investment associated with these formidable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Discrepancies in Reported Costs
Contrary to earlier estimations provided by media giants like The New York Times and CNN, documents extracted from the purported hack present a starkly different narrative.
Las Vegas Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo is in a few pretty exclusive clubs. The Super Bowl ring club (x2 with the Patriots). The Nike Brand Rep club. The “My grandpa was a WWII vet club.” The 9G club (yep, Jimmy G pulled 9Gs in an F-16 last year!). And now, he’s in the club that gives away Super Bowl tickets to veterans. In partnership with USAA, and the NFL’s Salute to Service, Jimmy was able to surprise a deserving veteran – Joshua (Josh) Polson – with two tickets to this year’s big game in sunny Las Vegas.

The transformation of the Air Force Academy (AFA) from a military institution to a progressive, liberal arts school has been incremental, relentless, and calculated.
The goal to politicize the training and perspectives of cadets, who constitute about 20% of annual Air Force officer commissions, guarantees a source of influential officers who will apply and promote these ideas throughout their military and civilian careers.
