Tucked away in a Lithuanian shopping centre, a group of volunteers known as the ‘Spiders of Vilnius’ are working to save lives.
For four years, these volunteers – ranging from local Lithuanians to Ukrainian refugees – have hand-woven over 1,000 camouflage nets to shield troops from Russian drones and artillery.
In this report, Simon Newton discovers why these volunteers vow to keep weaving as long as the nets are needed.
