The latest phase of the Royal Navy’s eight-month Indo-Pacific mission saw F-35B Lightning jets from HMS Prince of Wales drop Paveway IV bombs as the carrier begins her return journey to Europe.
Now back in the Mediterranean, the lead ship of the UK Carrier Strike Group carries 24 fifth-generation fighter jets — the largest number ever deployed on a Royal Navy aircraft carrier.
Operating once again under the NATO banner, the CSG is preparing for Exercise Falcon Strike, where the carrier’s aircraft will train alongside allied forces from Italy, the United States, and Greece — showcasing the strength of NATO air power at sea.
