U.S. Special Operations Command “reported mixed success” in meeting cost and schedule goals for several of its most expensive acquisition programs, according to a Government Accountability Office report.
The report, released Thursday, cited a disconnect among military officials over access to acquisition information, inconsistent financial reporting, and disparate application of leading product development practices as reasons for SOCOM’s programmatic delays and cost concerns.

The Blinded Veterans Association of America reports that there are over 130,000 legally blinded veterans across the country and they will all be eligible for a free pair.

Last night, Russia launched another large-scale missile/drone attack against large portions of Ukraine. The attack featured around 600 drones and various cruise/ballistic missiles, including Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles.
As a result of the attacks, various civilian and cultural sites were hit or damaged. Amidst the destruction, Dormition Cathedral, a UNESCO site and one of the holiest sites in Ukraine, was struck, causing a fire to burn a large portion of the outside structure.

A B-52 Stratofortress bomber crashed shortly after takeoff on Monday at Edwards Air Force Base, California, the base posted on social media. The base is the home of flight testing for the Air Force.
The crash took place at 11:20 a.m., according to the post. No information about the status of the bomber’s crew was immediately available.
“Emergency crews immediately responded to the scene and the situation is ongoing,” the social media post says.
The crash is the latest in s string of military flight mishaps in recent weeks.
The Next Ukraine Crisis: The Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure took a particularly ugly turn on Sunday night when drones struck and set on fire the 1,000-year-old Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site founded in 1051, according to Tymur Tkachenko, the head of Kyiv’s military administration.
The massive Russian missile attack on Kyiv set apartment buildings on fire and left at least eleven people dead and more than four dozen wounded. Russia launched more than 670 drones and 70 missiles in the attack.
