In an elaborate ceremony in August this year, North Korea celebrated the delivery of 250 nuclear-capable missile launchers to frontline military units. To a crowd of spectators, leader Kim Jong Un declared that North Korea needs to bolster its nuclear deterrence capabilities and that the launchers were an “up-to-date tactical attack weapon” that he “personally designed.” A month later, President Yoon Suk-yeol promised that South Korea’s conventional weapons, coupled with U.S. extended deterrence, would deter North Korea.

The U.S. military is reducing the number of missile defense sites it intends to put on Guam, cutting the previous proposal of 22 down to 16 locations. The revised plan calls for splitting the various systems across three bases on the island, with the goal of 360-degree defense from aerial munitions.
The scaled-back plans come from a draft environmental impact report released by the Missile Defense Agency on Friday, Oct. 25.

The U.S. Air Force’s latest way to prepare for a global conflict? Video games. The Air Force is increasingly using video games as a cheap, detailed and internal way to to test out potential wargame scenarios. And it’s increasingly using one game in particular: ‘Command.’ And as of this past week, airmen can play the game’s professional edition on the Air Force’s internal network.

A World War II veteran in Tennessee brought a Grand Ole Opry audience to their feet for a standing ovation – but not because he was performing.
99-year-old Bill Allen, a Murfreesboro, Tennessee native, was honored as part of the Grand Ole Opry’s 99th birthday celebration earlier this month. Allen was a 19-year-old medic in the Navy on D-Day.
His ship was anchored off the shore of Omaha Beach when it hit a mine and was split in half. Allen was able to jump onto a raft where he pulled four others, two who were critically wounded, out of the water. Only 28 of the 145 crew members survived.

Early morning October 26, 2024, the Israeli Air Force launched direct attacks in Iran in retaliation of hundreds of ballistic missiles fired upon Israel in April and early October. Whether these attacks were delayed as a result of leaks by US Department of Defense officials to the Iranians or not, the airstrikes were specifically targeted at Iranian ballistic missile and UAV capabilities.

The U.S. Coast Guard removed the commanding officer for Coast Guard Sector San Diego on Friday, as well as the command senior enlisted leader, due to a “loss of confidence.”
Capt. James Spitler and Master Chief Petty Officer Michael Dioquino were “temporarily relieved” following an investigation into their leadership.
“The Coast Guard cannot accomplish our missions without the respect and trust of each member,” Rear Adm. Joseph Buzzella, head of Coast Guard District Eleven, said in the announcement.

Let’s revisit my post from 25 months ago to see how USNA has operationalized their Diversity Zampolit, I mean Political Officers…oh, wait, my bad, “Dignity and Respect” cadre all the way through the Midshipmen experience.
How do they view themselves?
I’ve redacted identifying information below, as the Midshipman referred to—and those in similar positions further down the post—are not at fault.
They are just responding to the incentives and disincentives the hard-left have infused into our service academies.

Yes, hard-left.

George Friedman, Geopolitical Futures The end of the Cold War and the dismantling of what had been a bipolar world order raised the question of what exactly constitutes a superpower.
