Thales was able to gain access to and directly control the European Space Agency’s (ESA’s) OPS-SAT nanosatellite during the Cysat cyber-security exercise held in Paris from 26 to 27 April.
According to the company, participants used a variety of ethical hacking techniques to take control of the system used to manage the payload’s global positioning system, altitude control system, and camera.

Brazilian technology company IACIT Soluções Tecnológicas, partially owned by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), completed installing its OTH 0100 over-the-horizon coastal surveillance radar system.
The radar, installed at the Albardão Lighthouse in Brazil’s state of Rio Grande do Sul, is scheduled to be temporarily utilised by the Brazilian Navy, according to a 13 April letter of intent.

Three soldiers were killed and a fourth was injured when two AH-64 Apache helicopters collided on Thursday over Alaska, according to the 11th Airborne Division.
The injured soldier is being treated at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, according to a news release from the division that did not include the soldier’s current medical condition.

The Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence (MND) revealed on its website on 24 April that it plans to buy more than 120 additional Boxers, designated Vilkas in Lithuanian service. It reported that negotiations began in 2022 and that it had consulted Rheinmetall-Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) consortium Artec and presented the required information to the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR).
