The Australian Department of Defence (DoD) has signed a AUD46 million (USD30.7 million) contract with L3Harris Micreo to procure around 80 explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) robots for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) KF-21 fighter aircraft has passed a “provisional combat suitability evaluation”, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said on 16 May.
DAPA said the milestone – achieved following two years of trials – is intended to accelerate aircraft manufacturing ahead of the initial KF-21 production phase in 2024.
Uncertainty surrounds the development of the Indian LCA Tejas MK2 fighter as it awaits technology transfer approval. The deal with US company GE Aviation, which is expected to be boosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the White House next month, is crucial to the project’s progress.
The LCA Mk2, an advanced version of the LCA Mk1A used by the Indian Air Force, promises to be a heavier and more capable 4.5-generation aircraft. The main hurdle, however, is transferring 100% of the technology from the US GE 414 engines.

The Brazilian privately owned shipbuilder Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) officially marked the start of construction of the NApAnt Almirante Saldanha (H22) Antarctic support ship for the Brazilian Navy on 9 May with the first steel cut of the ship at the company’s shipyard located in Aracruz, State of Espírito Santo.
On May 10, the Pakistani Navy officially received two 054AP frigates, numbered 263 and 264, in a delivery ceremony held at Shanghai Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard. These frigates mark the successful conclusion of the China-Pakistan naval frigate deal, with a total of four 054AP ships provided to Pakistan. This significant development has drawn the attention of Indian media.
According to reports, the agreement for these four frigates was signed in 2018, along with the procurement of eight S-20 submarines from China. All eight submarines are expected to be delivered to the Pakistani Navy by 2028.

The Pentagon on Monday said that 31 Abrams training tanks have arrived at the Grafenwoehr Training Center in Germany that will be used to teach Ukrainians how to operate the American tanks.
“I can confirm that the 31 M1 Abrams training tanks have arrived at Grafenwoehr, Germany in preparation for subsequent training of Ukrainian tank crews,” Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon’s top spokesman, said during a press briefing Monday afternoon. “Those crews are expected to arrive and begin training within the next couple of weeks.
