The Vietnam People’s Air Force has selected the new Russian Yak-130M to serve as its next generation lightweight fighter, just five weeks after the type completed its first flight in late June. The Air Force already operates older variants of the Yak-130 which were ordered in 2019, with the two variants having significant commonality, while the new Yak-130M variant has a significantly improved combat potential. It features an upgraded radar, improved onboard systems, enhanced electronic warfare capabilities and a broader weapons package.

A senior official from Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (GUR) has reported that the Korean People’s Army is deploying a ballistic missile brigade to the Voronezh region in Western Russia to support strike operations against Ukrainian targets. Ukrainian intelligence assesses that the initial deployment will include six missile launchers and as many as 120 ballistic missiles. The official, Andrii Cherniak, added that North Korea has already delivered an initial batch of 40 KN-23 and KN-24 short-range ballistic missiles to Russia and deployed associated personnel.

Footage recently released by Chinese state media has provided a rare look at the People’s Liberation Army Air Force’s most capable fighter type, the J-20, conducting an air-to-air missile launch during a training exercise. The footage shows a J-20 releasing a PL-10 short-range infrared-guided air-to-air missile while flying at high altitude, before the missile successfully intercepts its target. Such footage remains uncommon, as China has traditionally released only limited imagery of the operational employment of its premier combat aircraft.

The Iranian Armed Forces have announced that special forces units conducted a cross-border operation into Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan Region, claiming to have killed eight leaders of armed separatist groups operating near the frontier. According to Iranian military statements, the operation has been underway for several weeks and targeted organisations Tehran accuses of launching attacks and supporting insurgent activity inside western Iran.

The Space Force has contracted three companies to mature Space-Based Airborne Moving Target Indicator capabilities and broaden the vendor pool that’s developing the technology, the service announced Tuesday.
The three other transaction agreements are worth a combined $615 million and are the second task order the Space Force has given for the SB-AMTI program. According to Space Systems Command, the new contracts are designed to accelerate development of emerging systems, leverage commercial tech and demonstrate novel SB-AMTI capabilities.

Washington has maintained an intense policy of opposing nuclear proliferation around the world for more than 8 decades.

Not only have U.S. officials sought to prevent countries from building deployable arsenals of nuclear weapons, but those officials also try to discourage technologically sophisticated countries from developing even the capability to build such weapons at a later date if a subsequent government there abandons the existing commitment to a nonnuclear status.

In what is becoming a common and everyday occurrence, late at night on 3 August and into the following morning, Ukraine’s military launched a widespread drone attack on Russia.

As with many of the most recent attacks, logistics centers and oil infrastructure sites in several regions of the country were the main targets.

In what appears to be an isolated incident, a Ukrainian drone that appeared to have been off course crashed onto a crowded beach in Arkhipo-Osipovka, near the Russian Black Sea resort of Gelendzhik.

A Ukrainian long-range drone crashed onto a crowded beach in southern Russia on Monday, killing seven people, including three children.

It is one of the deadliest incidents involving civilians injured inside Russia since Kyiv expanded its deep-strike campaign against Russian military and logistics targets.

Russian authorities said that another 40 people were injured when the Ukrainian drone exploded near the Black Sea resort village of Arkhipo-Osipovka in Krasnodar Krai. The resort is a popular summer destination for domestic tourists.

On Tuesday Morning, Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack against Moscow and other regions of Russia, utilizing several hundred attack drones.

According to local reports, the attacks set fire to a building in one of Moscow’s industrial districts and damaged civilian infrastructure in the area.

In the Leningrad region, a drone attack reportedly hit another Wildberries logistics warehouse, while another warehouse in the Tver region was also struck.

The United States has burned through most of its long-range precision munitions during the ongoing war with Iran, raising concerns about the Pentagon’s ability to respond to other crises around the globe, in particular a potential showdown with China in the Pacific or in Europe against Russia.
