Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent warnings that North Korea would provide additional support to Russian forces invading Ukraine were proven accurate this week when Ukrainian military intelligence reported that a North Korean missile unit had begun deploying to western Russia.

According to the intelligence, Pyongyang’s direct involvement in the war in Ukraine could see as many as 120 additional ballistic missiles provided to Russia.

Poland is a long-time enemy of Russia and a friend of Ukraine. Now the Polish government has found another way to help Kyiv and sting Moscow.

The Poles are considering sending some of their MiG-29s to Volodymyr Zelensky’s air force in exchange for drone technologies that are combat-proven in the war against Russia.

This defense agreement helps both countries. Poland has a new place to send its older fighter jets, and Ukraine is glad to share its expertise in combat drones.

The U.S. Navy officially decommissioned the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) on July 29, 2026, during a ceremony at Naval Base San Diego after nearly 14 years of service.

Commissioned on September 22, 2012, the ship served for nearly 14 years—roughly 56 percent of its intended 25-year lifespan—before being retired early to redirect funds toward fleet upgrades.

The Fort Worth is one of 14 warships that will be decommissioned or inactivated in Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26). The ship didn’t have a stellar reputation with the sailors that served on it.

Russia and Ukraine have now been at war for nearly four and a half years, and the war shows no signs of ending anytime soon. There haven’t even been direct peace talks for several months, after the sessions between the sides earlier this year were less than fruitful.

And with the growing role of drone warfare, and now Russia launching ballistic missiles on a regular basis, the war has gotten more and more deadly, with nearly daily reports of civilian casualties.

The War in Ukraine Continues Its Incessant Transformations – The original war in Ukraine was supposed to be executed quickly by Russia in a blitzkrieg style with combined arms in the air and on the ground. It quickly bogged down due to Ukrainian anti-tank missiles and loitering munitions that created a graveyard of Russian tanks and armored personnel carriers.

Then both sides dug in. Trench warfare ensued. Multiple-launch rocket systems and old-fashioned field artillery belched death and destruction. This created a stalemate.

Publicizing the identities of special operations troops could be criminalized under the same laws that protect intelligence agents, according to a proposal included in the House version of the annual defense bill. 
Though aimed at military members in units that perform sensitive missions, the proposal could also cover a wide range of military and civilian roles, and allow the Secretary of Defense to apply that secrecy as they see fit.

A barrage of Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukraine killed 17 people and wounded 44 overnight in the Kyiv region, the AP reported, citing social media posts from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

A separate AFP/Reuters report stated that the attack included 115 drones and 28 high-speed missiles, and Zelensky said 24 of them were ballistic missiles.

Iran and Oman are inching closer to announcing a temporary arrangement for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz – but the circumstances surrounding whatever deal may or may not emerge today suggest that the United States will now begin work on a lasting peace deal that includes major concessions for Tehran.

The Air Force and Lockheed Martin recently demonstrated an artificial intelligent agent autonomously flying a fighter jet using live infrared sensor data — a critical step in ongoing developments of AI-enabled combat.
The service announced Tuesday that it conducted multiple flight tests in April at Edwards Air Force Base in California where an AI agent processed live targeting data and then controlled an aircraft to execute intercepts.

A deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, at least temporarily, is close at hand, according to a series of reports on Wednesday.

According to the Associated Press, President Donald Trump said Tuesday night that a deal could be near reopening the important waterway. Indeed, officials from Iran and Oman told the AP on Wednesday that they had “finalized the draft deal” to reopen the Strait and that it was awaiting final approval from Iran’s Supreme Leader.
