More than a million U.S. military veterans who served in multiple enlistments are now eligible for an extra year of education benefits, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced on Friday.
The decision, announced on Jan. 3 by VA Secretary Denis McDonough, gives veterans who meet the requirements a full 48 months of education assistance. The policy change comes in the way of a Supreme Court decision last year, which ended a cap of three years of educational support.

Vilnius, Lithuania, the country’s capital, was named European Christmas Capital 2025 by the Christmas Cities Network. This honor highlights the city’s holiday spirit, culture, and community engagement. To that end, Vilnius is decorated to the nines with wreaths, garland, trees, and angels adorning its historic streets. Law enforcement reported the driver had shot himself prior to the explosion.

I recently have enjoyed many conversations with former military colleagues, and defense contractors.
Since Nov 5th, I have asked them what was the mood was on the ground in the force, concerning the incoming administration and everything that entails…you know, America First, anti-Marxism, anti-DEI, etc.
I have been shocked by their response.
Many of them In my opinion have lost the ability to critically think.
They have been absorbed by ‘the blob’, likely scared for their careers, their livelihood, and future political futures.

The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division’s Carolinas Field Office is offering a $10,000 reward for a bunch of stolen HMMWV, better known as Humvee, doors. The debauchery is afoot at one of the largest military bases on the East Coast, home of the Army’s special operations, heart of the airborne and now the site of an ongoing misdemeanor spree involving the stolen doors. 
These stolen doors are from the arguably most useless vehicles in the U.S. military’s arsenal, non-armored Humvees. U.S. Army WTF Moments shared the CID award release on Thursday, Jan.

U.S. military bases across North America are initiating heightened security measures, including suspending the Trusted Traveler Program, following violent attacks this week in New Orleans and Las Vegas.
The order from U.S. Northern Command, which multiple installations announced on Friday, Jan. 3, directs bases to initiate a full identification check at all entry points onto bases. Anyone 18 years and older must present their IDs to security at gates. The military’s Trusted Traveler Program is suspended until further notice, per the bases.
