Joseph Kosinski went through a lot of work to make Top Gun: Maverick. He had to recapture some of the magic of the first film and bring back beloved characters all while balancing the new, more serious tone the script demanded. His journey took him to aircraft carriers and other locations. And he got too close to the Navy’s secrets.
Talking to Deadline about the making of the film, Kosinski discussed working with Val Kilmer, stunts and having the actors in the planes filming themselves.

Veterans in a mental health crisis will now be able to access free mental health care from the Department of Veterans of Affairs, regardless of whether or not they are enrolled in VA benefits. Starting Tuesday, Jan. 17, veterans will be able to access this emergency suicide care at both VA and non-VA healthcare facilities.  
The VA is also expanding eligibility for the free care. The VA estimates this will increase care to as many as nine million veterans who aren’t signed up for VA benefits.

The long-awaited intelligence report on unidentified phenomena is finally out, and hundreds more cases have been documented. On Friday, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence presented the Annual Report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) to Congress, with a declassified version released to the public. There’s no signs pointing to alien encounters, but the report found 510 incidents where anomalous, unidentified objects or events were noted.

The redesign of the Leclerc tank, assigned to Nexter Systems by the DGA in March 2015, has as its primary purpose its integration into the Scorpion combined arms battle units.
