Staff Sergeant Ty Carter was awarded the Medal of Honor on August 26, 2013, for courageous acts undertaken in Afghanistan during the War on Terrorism. Carter served with Bravo Troop, 3rd Squadron, 61st Calvary Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

Staff Sergeant Carter was born in Spokane, WA in 1980 and joined the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating high school in 1998. He initially attended the Marine Corps Combat Engineer School but quickly found himself to be a skilled marksman.

The US Navy (USN) still plans to fast-track the integration of the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) hypersonic weapon system into its DDG 1000 Zumwalt-class guided missile destroyers, with the aim to complete the first live-fire tests in 2025, according to Vice Admiral Bill Galinis, commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).

Thales Nederland has completed production of the first TACTICOS combat management system (CMS) shipset for the first of the UK Royal Navy’s (RN’s) Inspiration (Type 31)-class general-purpose frigates.
Under a contract awarded in November 2019, UK shipbuilder Babcock, leading the ‘Team 31′ consortium, will deliver five Type 31 ships for the RN.
