Russia launched this Thursday (January 26) a barrage of missiles against Ukraine that has caused at least one death, a day after Kyiv obtained a commitment from the West to supply dozens of modern battle tanks to try to repel the Russian invasion.
Moscow’s enraged reaction to the German and American disclosures is consistent with its earlier responses to apparent Ukrainian achievements with airstrikes that have left millions without access to reliable heating, cooling, or hygienic supplies.

Momentum is building for a long-awaiting transfer of Western combat aircraft to Kyiv, with at least one NATO country stating publicly it stands ready to respond to Ukrainian requests.
Five countries have ordered the Block 70 variant of the fighter jet, and the company is looking for more customers.
The flight occurred on January 24 at 9:17 am with Lockheed Martin test pilots Dwayne “Pro” Opella and Monessa “Siren” Balzhiser at the controls.
Airworthiness checks took up around half of the flight’s 50 minutes total time. These included the engine, flight control, fuel system, and basic handling of the aircraft.

Military cartography dates back centuries, with data collectors and designers collaborating to create now-famous maps of prominent battles; Robert Adams’ visualisation of the Spanish Armada, published in 1590, is one early example.
Data continues to aid strategic planning and public understanding of conflict. But the sheer amount of data pumping out into cyberspace, ease of access and the imperative to process it in real time is asking new questions of defence planners.
