Coffee has fueled the U.S. military since long before it needed actual fuel for vehicles. It was one of the prized commodities that made life bearable for Union troops in the Civil War (and the scarcity of which made life worse for the Confederates), and troops’ love for brewed coffee led to a new mode of preparation in World War II, the Americano.
It’s hard to imagine coming to work in the military every day and not seeing the large, strong flagon of hot coffee, waiting, just the way the Sergeant Major or Master Chief likes it.

It isn’t uncommon to find shotguns where the only implement for aiming is a single bead at the end of the barrel. Thankfully the modern firearms industry has given us many options to fix this issue, with the red dot sight being a top option in the shotgun arena. We are going to look at some options out there and find the best red dot sights for a given purpose.

April 4th, 2003, “Iraq went to hell and the insurgency began,” recalled Erik Albertson, a retired US Army senior non-commissioned officer who served as a tanker in all positions on the M1A1 and early versions of the M1A2 SEPv2 Abrams main battle tank.

A remarkably clear view of a low-flying tactical jet being attacked has emerged out of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Footage of the incident, which has been circulating on social media, shows a low-flying Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot belonging to the DRC being struck by a surface-to-air missile – most likely a shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile often referred to as a man-portable air-defense system, or MANPADS.
In the video, we see the Su-25 flying at very low altitude above a residential area.

The Navy is at risk of experiencing reduced confidence and effectiveness in evaluating a critical next-generation airborne electronic warfare system during its upcoming Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E) phase, the Pentagon’s top weapons tester asserts.
The system in question is the Next Generation Jammer-Mid Band, which will serve as the Navy’s premier aerial electronic attack platform mounted aboard EA-18 Growler aircraft and will replace the ALQ-99 jamming pod. It has been broken into three pods covering three portions of the electromagnetic spectrum: mid, low and high.

Boeing has unveiled a new concept for a stealthy tactical cargo aircraft with a blended wing-body, or BWB, design. Though the company has been funding this project internally so far, it comes nearly two weeks after Secretary of the U.S. Air Force Frank Kendall said having more survivable airlifters and aerial refueling tankers will be critical in future high-end conflicts against near-peer adversaries, especially China.
