Fighting around the southeastern Ukrainian town of Vuhledar has intensified in recent days as Russian forces continue their offensive in the Donbas.
Located to the southwest of Donetsk proper, the town has started bearing the brunt of Russian firepower.

Footage from the area shows Ukrainian fire destroying multiple Russian armored vehicles in recent days’ attacks on the town.

Thursday saw the successful launch of a rocket carrying a government radar satellite designed to gather intelligence that would be used to enhance disaster response and keep tabs on advancements at North Korean military installations.
The radar satellite can capture terrain images at night and during adverse weather conditions. According to the Cabinet Satellite Intelligence Center, which commissioned Mitsubishi Heavy to launch, it can be used to transmit data in the event of a natural catastrophe.

PARIS, FRANCE – In late 2022, the French DGA completed qualification testing of the AASM 1000 GS bomb and its support system. The bomb was developed by Safran Electronics & Defense under an 85 million euro contract awarded by the DGA in 2017.

U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton closed the base’s main gate Friday evening after a car rammed it in an attempt to get onto the base.
The incident happened at 6:30 p.m. on Jan 27. The Marine Corps confirmed that someone attempted to “gain unauthorized access to the installation.”
“The MCB Camp Pendleton Provost Marshall Office deployed the final denial barriers and disabled the vehicle,” base staff tweeted at 8:39 p.m.

I don’t care if they are Senators and veterans, they show ignorance about military strategy and operations, especially in the context of Russia’s ‘near abroad’.
