The first shipment of more than 60 Bradley M2A2-ODS Fighting Vehicles promised to Ukraine has left port, according to U.S. Transportation Command.
The shipment “left the shores of North Charleston, South Carolina, last week, and will provide the Ukrainian forces with additional offensive and defensive capabilities to protect their borders against Russia’s illegal invasion,” the command – responsible for shipping U.S. military supplies and personnel around the world – said Monday on its homepage.

Prosecutors have filed misdemeanor charges of assault and battery against a Marine from Camp Pendleton, California, who was shown in a viral video getting into a physical altercation with hotel staff in San Diego.
Marine Sgt. Jason Frink is scheduled to be arraigned at a March 1 court appearance, Leslie Wolf Branscomb, a spokeswoman for the San Diego City Attorney’s Office,  told Task & Purpose on Monday.

In the final years of the Cold War, the Soviet Navy tasked two of its Delta class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines, or SSBNs, to verify their capability to launch a full salvo of all of its 16 ballistic missiles at once. This was Operation Behemoth, and the results were, it has to be said, mixed.
The first attempt in 1989 ended in disaster when propellant and oxidizer leaked from one of the missiles and ignited in the launch tube; the resulting explosion destroyed the missile.

Ukraine says it has received “positive signals” from Poland that indicate that the NATO country is willing to supply Kyiv with the F-16 fighter jets that it’s long been campaigning to get. Meanwhile, Polish officials have confirmed that they could send some of their F-16s to Ukraine, although it would have to be done as part of a coordinated effort with other NATO allies. Moreover, the advanced capabilities of these jets, in particular, and Poland’s own need for them, appear to make such a transfer at least questionable.

The Army’s situational awareness tool collapsing various systems within the command post is operationally effective in its mission, according to the Pentagon’s weapon tester.
