The French Navy’s first new batiments ravitailleurs de forces (BRF) logistic support ship (LSS), Jacques Chevallier (A 725), has started sea trials.

Private investment firm Highlander Partners has purchased Black Sage Technologies, a multi-mission platform provider of counter uncrewed aircraft systems (C-UAS) and security solutions.
Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, Black Sage was founded in 2014 and its solutions are provided for the military, internal security, and critical infrastructure industries.
The company has developed a proprietary, scalable, open architecture DefenseOS command and control software.

In July 2019, Acorn Growth Companies bought Black Sage for an undisclosed sum.

After months of asking, the Ukrainian military is set to receive more than 100 western-made main battle tanks from its international allies, including  31 U.S. M1 Abrams tanks, 14 British Challenger 2 tanks, and about 80 German-built Leopard 2 tanks.

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and BAE Systems announced on 27 January that they had signed a contract modification for 20 more Granatkastarpansarbandvagn 90 (Grkpbv 90) self-propelled mortars for the Swedish Army. The FMV valued the contract at approximately SEK293.5 million (USD28 million) and expects deliveries to take place in 2025.

The Navy in the coming weeks will host industry days for companies interested in learning more about opportunities to work on the service’s unmanned systems initiatives, according to service officials.
Speaking Monday at an ASNE symposium, Rob Iera, principal assistant program manager for unmanned maritime systems, PMS 406, revealed the plan to hold them in “about a month” and noted they will “cover the breadth of the Navy’s unmanned technologies.”
